Pipe counter: a bundle counted from one photo.

Photograph a bundle of pipes end-on and the tool marks and numbers every pipe end it finds. A tap adds one it missed or removes one that is wrong, so the total is a count you have checked. The photo stays on your phone.

The photo is counted on this device and is not uploaded.
  1. 1

    Photograph the pipe ends

Stand square to the bundle, with every pipe end in the frame.

  2. 2

    Box the bundle

Drag the orange corners in around the pipes if the photo shows a lot else.

  3. 3

    Count

Every pipe found gets a numbered ring. Orange rings are worth a second look.

  4. 4

    Tap what it missed

Zoom in and tap any pipe without a ring; the tool checks a pipe is there. Press and hold for one it cannot see.

The photo

Photos that count well.

Pipe ends facing the camera

Stand square to the bundle so the openings look round. A slight angle is corrected.

Every pipe end showing

Fold the sack back so each end can be seen. A pipe the camera cannot see cannot be counted.

One pipe size per photo

The tool works out the pipe size from the photo and looks for that size.

Up to about 200 pipes

For a bigger stack, pull the box in around one part at a time, or use two photos.
